One of the optional tests Sterling provides is a gas leak test. Gas leak detection is the process of identifying the small and undetectable (by odor) gas leaks that can often happen in a home’s various gas lines.

Using a handheld combustible gas leak detector called a “gas sniffer” (or “tick sensor”), our inspectors will check all the connection points in any hard metal piping, flexible supply lines, and gas control valves of every gas appliances in the home--this includes the furnace, water heater, clothes dryer, fireplace, cook top and exterior gas meter.

If we find any leaks, we identify the location so you can address the safety concerns.
